Promoting Peace

Since 1914, Rotary International has championed global peace — beginning with a resolution by the Rotary Club of Hamilton, Ontario, urging nations to uphold harmony worldwide.

Peacebuilding fosters empathy, dialogue, and cooperation, while conflict resolution tackles root causes such as poverty, inequality, and misinformation. Rotary’s enduring commitment to peace is reflected through partnerships with the United Nations, support for the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, and the establishment of Rotary Peace Centers and Peace Fellowships worldwide. An estimated 120 million people are displaced from their homes due to conflict, underscoring the urgency of our mission.

Rotary District 3131 proudly continues this legacy through the Pune Peace Fellowship — a unique global initiative empowering youth, educators, corporate leaders, NGOs, and the Rotary fraternity to become catalysts for peace and positive change.
